Top NFT collections in October 2022 — they are worth a closer look

NFTs are non-fungible tokens or digital tags attached to all sorts of electronic objects and act as a certificate of uniqueness for a digital asset. The NFT also serves as proof of ownership of such an object (it can be an image, video, music, tweet, or anything else in the digital world).

An NFT collection is a unique collection of NFTs that often has between 5,000 and 10,000 tokens. There may be more or less rare NFTs within a single collection, which also affects their value. 

According to the Nansen study, a classic example of a collectible NFT set is the Bored Ape Yacht Club project from Yuga Labs. These digital images are highly valued not only because of their value but also because of the social status they confer on their owners. Also, holders of these NFTs get exclusive access to various celebrity events and other goodies. 

NFTs have also enabled the play-to-earn model in gaming. For example, NFTs are bought to show their wealth and high status. The same is already practiced in social networks; for example, on Twitter, NFTs can be used as avatars. 

Even despite the crypto winter, NFTs are still a popular asset to invest in. 

We decided to make it easy for those interested by compiling the most popular NFTs of the last 30 days (as of October 14, 2022), according to CoinMarketCap and with the highest sales volume. 

By the way, all of the most popular 10 NFT collections are made on the Ethereum blockchain.

The best NFT collections of the past 30 days (September 15 — October 14, 2022) 

1. CryptoPunks consists of 10,000 uniquely generated characters. Trading volume has been 15,265.28 ETH, and market capitalization reached 800,000 ETH. 
2. The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of 10,000 unique digital collectibles owned by Bored Ape NFTs that live on the Ethereum blockchain. The trading volume hit 11,320.9 ETH, and market capitalization reached 757,953.9 ETH. 
3. Mutant Ape Yacht Club is a collection of up to 20,000 Mutant Apes that can only be created by exposing an existing Bored Ape to a mint of MUTANT SERUM or minting a Mutant Ape in the public sale. Trading volume is at 8,150.2 ETH with a market capitalization of 740,000.97 ETH. 
4. Otherdeed is needed to gain ownership of virtual land in the Otherside metaverse. It is currently under development and combines MMORPG and virtual worlds mechanics with Web3 support. Over the past 30 days, the trading volume of these NFTs was 7,075.22 ETH, with a market capitalization of 343,512.7 ETH.  
5. CLONE X is 20,000 3D NFT avatars from Nike and RTFKT. Each clone in the collection is ready to be used in the metaverse from the beginning, as the collection is the first element in the metaverse ecosystem created by Nike and RTFKT. This collection had a trading volume of 5,329.96 ETH and a market capitalization of 201,951.96 ETH. 
6. Azuki is a collection of 10,000 avatars that grant membership access to The Garden: a corner of the internet where artists, builders, and Web3 enthusiasts meet to create a decentralized future. Azuki holders get access to exclusive drops, experiences, and more. The trading volume of these NFTs reached 3,482.81 ETH, and the market capitalization reached 146,444.87 ETH. 
7. Kitaro is a collection of 7,777 storytelling NFTs with a twist. They also give you access to the first augmented reality coloring book, and a host of additional events and adventures. 
8. Moonbirds are a collection of 10,000 PFP NFTs or Profile Picture Non-Fungible Tokens with useful properties that offer a wide variety and unique characteristics. Each Moonbird unlocks a private club membership and additional benefits upon long-term ownership. The creators call it “nesting.” The 30-day trading volume reached 2,196.88 ETH, and the market capitalization reached 108,558.44 ETH. 
9. Cool Cats is a collection of 9,999 randomly generated and stylized NFTs whose owners get access to exclusive events like NFT claims, raffles, community giveaways, and more. Some NFTs have more properties than others. Trading volume reached 2,031.63 ETH with a market capitalization of 40,361.19 ETH. 
10. Genuine Undead. The collection comprises 5995 classic, 3996 cyberpunk, and eight legendary, over 200 hand-drawn PFP-traits measuring 24*24 pixels. The trading volume was 2,025.09 ETH, and the market capitalization was 5,508.89 ETH.
