If you’re looking for a new way to invest your money, Calvaria: Duels of Eternity, might be the perfect opportunity. The unique play-to-earn card battle game has just launched its RIA token on presale, and it’s already generating tons of buzz in crypto circles.

Investors are flocking to the Calvaria website to purchase it early and enjoy the benefits of Calvaria’s holdings.

Fun to play for all

Most blockchain game creators and developers are building play-to-earn games for both traditional gamers (Web2 gamers) and crypto gamers to enjoy. The ‘fun’ aspect is almost always their underlying goal to game development.

Let’s grow together!

Of course, this is hypothesizing that if their native cryptocurrencies fall away, players will continue to play P2E games in order to keep their ecosystems afloat, even during the darkest crypto ages. Nevertheless, play-to-earn games are struggling to attract regular and casual players, with many still skeptical to switch to blockchain games.

The giants in blockchain gaming; Axie Infinity, Decentraland, and The Sandbox grew very quickly to top the charts and are now worth billions of dollars. Yet, due to unforeseen circumstances (like hacking in Axie infinity), the three aforementioned crypto games all dropped their market caps by a whopping 90%.

It’s lonely in the metaverse: Axie Infinity, Decentraland, and The Sandbox games decline in play-to-earn players

According to DappRadar, Axie Infinity has had less than 200,000 players in the past month, The Sandbox less than 10,000, and Decentraland only 7,000. This decline, especially in the most popular blockchain games today, has played a role in putting off casual gamers from venturing into play-to-earn games.

However, the developers of Calvaria believe that they have a solution to get all players excited for crypto and NFT games.

Calvaria: Duels of Eternity

To play any blockchain game, players need some knowledge of opening, using and operating a crypto wallet. It can feel intimidating at first, I know. Especially with the looming thought of cybersecurity in the back of your mind.

What the creators at Calvaria have done is nothing new. Furthermore, it’s a formula being done by many crypto gaming developers today, like the team at Zilliqa and their Web3War first person shooter blockchain game.

Calvaria: Duels of Eternity is set to officially launch in Q1 2023 as a free-to-play and a play-to-earn game, appealing to both casual and crypto gamers. The F2P version will be released first so as to give ALL players a taste of the game with no pressure to connect wallets, gas fees, or buying NFTs.

They will, however, keep a visible and transparent lifetime tracker that players can refer to see how much they would have earned had they been playing the play-to-earn version of the game.

Talk about a missed opportunity.

Calvaria: Duels of Eternity gameplay

Inspired by Mexican Mythos and set in the afterlife, Calvaria is a play-to-earn battle card game, which reminds this writer of the multiple strategy card games she plays.

Calvaria is edutainment at its best, as it also includes an educational mode that rewards players after learning about blockchain titles. Duels of Eternity is the main series in the crypto game from Calvaria. The battle flares between three unique factions that are at war with each other.

After carefully selecting and aligning a faction, players get to organize armies that challenge and outsmart their opponents in this mind-bending card game. As with all card games, the right combination of heroes/warriors is the key to success.

More than a card game however, Calvaria tells the story of the after-life, where mysteries unravel as you play the game. So, apart from earning tokens, players are taken on a story-telling journey, every chapter leaving you wanting to know more. The beta version of Calvaria has left players with a nerve-wracking cliff hanger according to the Calvaria community.

Winning in the single-player mode will reward players with unique cards or XP which they can use in the player vs player mode. Best of three consecutive rounds earns you aRIA tokens. I didn’t say it would be an easy play-to-earn game.

Future plans for Calvaria: Duels of Eternity

The crypto card game developers have big plans for Calvaria. From seasonal NFT drops, new game modes, and a chance at being a AAA NFT game, to VR responsiveness.

What excited me most about this strategy play-to-earn card game is the consideration for an animated series and a comic strip.

A chance at trying to be the League of Legends in blockchain gaming

Calvaria will create its own in-house eSports team and welcome others into the ecosystem, holding seasonal competitions with large prize pools. They also plan to hold third-party tournaments from partners and sponsors.

Who knows, they may get to host a worldwide event soon too.

Calvaria: Duels of Eternity presale Info

The just launched a presale of its native token RIA, which has so far accumulated almost $200,000 worth in investment.

The token will be used to migrate the blockchain game into a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), with community members, who, if they own enough tokens, get to vote and decide issues relating to Calvaria’s ecosystem.

The developers are already geared to list the RIA token on KuCoin and Gate.io once the presale is sold out. At the moment of writing this article, the presale stands at Stage 2 with 68% progress. Almost at the finish line.

Parting shot

Strategy card games, be it free-to-play like Legends of Runeterra or Hearthstone, or play-to-earn like Gods Unchained, Splinterlands or Skyweaver, there is definitely a community and a fan base to rely on.

With its free-to-play strategy, Calvaria is set to take over the blockchain leaders board very soon.
