According to the statement, the company thinks that the bear markets are the best time for recruiting talent. And they have got 500+ roles still left to fill this year for candidates who are ready to join their team.
To attract people who are more like-minded in their spirit, Kraken has summarized some points of their hiring ethos:

It is worth mentioning that Kraken’s actions are the opposite of the policies of such companies as BlockFi, Crypto.com, and Gemini, which recently fired their employees in the face of the crypto market crash. Most recently, Coinbase fired over 1,1000 workers.
Meanwhile, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao is also optimistic about the company’s hiring plans and wants to hire 2000 people.
