Japanese style animation, anime, has a mammoth following worldwide. Pokémon is the most famous anime and is one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time. The video game adaptation is the most famous to date with over 368 million copies sold and over one billion mobile downloads. It’s only natural for anime to adapt to gaming, especially NFT games, because if Pokémon taught us anything it is that ‘you gotta catch em all!’.

Here’s a brief look into the:

Top 3 hottest anime NFT crypto games.

1. Skyark Chronicles

SkyArk Chronicles is an anime GameFi that features a series of three game titles, namely House of Heroes, Legends Rise and Mirror Verse. These games are within SkyArk Chronicles and act as a multiverse. Each offers exceptional game narratives to get lost in. This created metaverse allows players to use their NFTs across the different games, giving the NFTs more utility.

The minds behind SkyArk Chronicles not only want to be identified as a play-to-earn game but want to build on a play-to-own concept — to create a game where players have fun while still giving players the opportunity to own in-game assets.

SkyArk Chronicles Gameplay

At the beginning, players get to select the class of their leader, Satoshi Nakamoto. Satoshi can be a Warrior, Archer, or Mage.

Players then rally their forces to combat in the 5 main classes of SkyHeroes; Warrior, Magician, Acolyte, Thief, and Archer, to rise through the ranks and unlock new abilities/quests.

House of Heroes and Legends Arise are available to play everywhere. SkyArkVerse is coming soon.

2. ChainGuardians

You can claim a free NFT everyday on the ChainGuardians game. The NFT can be used to fight in the game or in mining.

ChainGuardians wasn’t originally built as a play-to-earn NFT game, but the NFT in-game assets include weapons, shields, and other armor, as well as our hero Guardian and the supporting characters.

ChainGuardians Gameplay

The game is player-controlled, but the battle game stays active in real-time even when you’re not playing. Advanced AI-based battles led by the Guardian take place in the background. Therefore, choosing and/or earning the right Guardian plays a crucial role in which forces the Guardian will join to defeat opponents and Gatekeepers. Rewards include power, credits, armaments, and world artifacts that can evolve with gameplay.

Tactically, seize castles, fortresses, and dungeons, or set-up campsites with defensive maneuvers. You can attack an enemy day or night, loot their valuable wares and claim the area as yours.

You can (BYON) bring your own NFT to play the game, but this is dependent on several factors. Additionally, you can mine Chain Guardian Coin (CGC): the native currency for ChainGuardians using rare and popular NFTs.

3. Defina

Actually named ‘Defina Finance’, this is a play-to-earn gacha game (arcade style gaming where players are encouraged to spend the native game currency to buy in-game items; weaponry, upgrades, XP etc.)

Its anime-style is captured more in its featured DeFi and NFTs that allow players to own the game’s assets. The more you play, the more FINA tokens you earn.

The game’s trade and fair withdrawal system are unique and unlike other play-to-earn blockchain games.

Defina Gameplay

You need four heroes to play.

The heroes are NFTs earned through minting mystery boxes or bought/traded on the marketplace.

Defina expects players to have four heroes to play. The heroes are NFTs acquired through minting mystery boxes or buying/trading them from the marketplace.

You can upgrade the heroes by resonance, rebirth, or playing the levels. To maximize the game modes, increase hero skills, elements and team synergy, players need to truly invest in the game- either through hours of game play or through purchasing in-game elements.

The playing modes are Adventure, Arena, Quest Bounty (Vrykos Tower), and Mining (yield farm) modes.

  •       Adventure Mode: Players need to assemble a team to fight computer-controlled mobs to unlock different chapters. Defeat the enemies to gain XP, FINA tokens, and treasure chests that can unlock new Hero NFTs.
  •       Vrykos Tower – Players assign and send heroes to complete bounty quests to earn rewards. The heroes and the teams assembled play on idle mode to compete for bounties and earn rewards. FINA tokens are needed to assign heroes to the quests.
  •       Arena: Battle for rewards with other players of similar skill and hero level.
  •       Mining: Conquer and occupy a mining pool to mine FINA tokens. The higher the Hero grade, the higher levels of mines players can access, and more FINA tokens created. Players defeat enemies to own a mine.
