Happy upcoming weekend to those who will be resting. And for those who constantly keep their hand on the pulse of what the crypto market lives and breathes, we have prepared a short compilation of the top news of the day.

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried will see the sun (how unexpected, right?)

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried will be released on $250 million bail. In the meantime, he awaits trial on eight federal criminal charges related to the alleged fraud.

Bankman-Fried was extradited from the Bahamas to the United States.

Web3 chess

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) will collaborate with the blockchain Avalanche, the competition began on Web3. This will improve the fairness of the game, for example, by publishing tournament data and player rankings online, as well as the prize pools of AVAX competitions. This merger also makes Ava Labs, developers of the Avalanche blockchain, and Core, a self-storage cryptocurrency, sponsors of physical chess tournaments around the world, including the World Chess Championship and the Chess Olympiad.

OKX once again tries to prove its worth

OKX crypto-exchange presented its second Proof-of-Reserves report. The platform’s collateral ratios were: BTC – 101%, ETH – 103%, and USDT – 101%. To prove transparency, the company published more than 23,000 addresses and will use them, so the public can audit assets.

TON of scammers

The official TONcoin community reported that fraud has been on the rise lately and reminded us of safety rules.

Remember:

  • Your secret recovery phrase is the only way to gain access to your cryptocurrency wallet. Never show it to people, and try not to enter it on third-party sites and services.
  • No cryptocurrency wallet on the blockchain can be “blocked”. Any app claiming to “unblock” your wallet is a scam.

And they also announced a Token Bridge smart contract hacking contest, which will allow users to transfer any tokens from the Ethereum network or BNB smart chain to the TON blockchain and vice versa. The total prize pool is $50,000. The contest will run until December 30. Details here.
