There have been many ‘run’ games over the years, with Temple Run and Subway Surfers being the most popular. However, the original ‘run-game’ is Jumper. It’s a mini-game discovered by Lunatic Obscurity while trying out a 1986 100 Yen disc for the PC88.
In 2008, Temple Run came into the scene. It was quickly followed by Subway Surfers, and the two dominated the ‘endless running game’ scene.

The Gameplay
The game is set in a time bubble. Metarun’s characters find themselves in a time loop in a fantasy world where magic and technology advances. This definitely keeps things interesting.
Players will begin their journey by selecting from one of three-character classes; The Craftsman, The Fighter, and The Sprinter.
Each class has four main characteristics: Health, Mana, Collision Damage, and Maximal Speed. Before making a selection, note that each character specializes in specific characteristics while lack in others.
You’re spoilt for choice with 45 unique characters that have upgradable NFT skins, divided according to NFT class and its rarity.
Once you progress into the game, you’ll be able to collect gemstones while playing the single-player mode. The gemstones will act as in-game currency. Gemstones also help to upgrade/customize your NFT characters.
As the game progresses, players overcome obstacles and gain coins which can be turned into the virtual currency OPAL.
Essentially, the more you run, the more coins you gather.
These can be traded for the game’s native token $MRUN. The tokens allow players to purchase in-game items and characters skins as NFTs via the native cross-chain marketplace.
The token will be used for various purposes. From upgrading your characters, to taking part in Multiplayer mode. There will be a discount on in-game items and on the NFT marketplace if you use the native as the payment method.
