In her recent interview for buidlbee, YouTuber and crypto investor Crypto Wendy O repeatedly emphasized how important it is for a beginning investor to learn — not just what Bitcoin is but what investing is all about.

This article is for those who don’t want to risk thoughtlessly but are ready to dig a little deeper into the subject and make $10k out of their $100, following specific strategies and sensible pieces of advice.

Here are six resources of where to get them.

Investopedia

We will begin this list with one of the most famous sites and, in fact, the recommendations of Wendy O. herself.

“It is a 100% free and extremely handy website,” says Wendy.

Investopedia is actually a media about investments, but it has a whole section called “Education” where you can check:

• the investment dictionary;
• basic strategies and approaches in investing;
• guides to stocks and funds, etc.

Investopedia also has an academy with paid online video courses.

Clarity in Crypto

This is a site with information about investing in crypto. We already mentioned it in our other list: online courses about crypto trading. 

Here we recommend it again because the site’s author — anonymous, by the way — has done a substantial job. There are four sections on the site, and one of them is devoted to investments in general. In it, the author explains:

• what money is;
• what the value of money depends on;
• how the market works.

In other words, he just gives you the basis on which you can enter crypto investing.

The Accountant Quits Podcast

Want to improve your overall financial expertise? Tokenomics expert Sabrina B. advises The Accountant Quits Podcast by Umar Mallam Hassam. Sabrina worked with the traditional financial marketplace for more than ten years before moving into blockchain in 2017 to help companies launch their own tokens.

“It is not just about understanding the technology but financial education,” Sabrina says of crypto investing. “Without it, you can easily invest in the wrong product.”

Episodes of The Accountant Quits Podcast, Sabrina’s favorite podcast, focus on the impact of blockchain in accounting. The author, Umar Mallam Hassam, invites industry leaders to discuss current issues.

You can’t use the podcast as an introductory course, but it wouldn’t hurt to listen to the episodes as side education. By the way, at the time of writing, a total of 38 podcasts were available.

Blockchain and Money

A legendary MIT course looks at blockchain with a focus on its economic side. In 24 online lectures, Professor Gary Gensler talks about:

• the economics of blockchain;
• the possibilities and limitations of financial systems;
• the banking system;
• trading;
• primary and secondary markets, etc.

The Motley Fool

A worthy competitor to Investopedia. But, unlike it, The Motley Fool contains only valuable materials and guides — no news.

The information is divided into sections:

Additionally, there are several financial podcasts.

Investor.gov

Finally, we’ll share with you a government website for investors — from the U.S. government. 

Investor.gov has articles for beginning investors, financial tools, and calculators. Particular attention is paid to safety and legality, so when you take information from this site, you can be absolutely sure of it.
