When I first saw Cult DAO, I thought it would be a regular interview with the founder of another crypto project. But once I researched a bit deeper, I realized there is something catchy about it.
Firstly, I couldn’t find who the founder was. And once I found out — at least his anonymous account — I couldn’t contact him directly.
A chain where no one knows who the founder is… but this founder has a pseudonym and communicates with participants via forums… I think we have already seen that movie 🙂
But whether Cult DAO will be the next Bitcoin? And whether it’s worth joining the Cult? Let’s figure it out together.
The brand new newsletter with insights, market analysis and daily opportunities.
Let’s grow together!
I click on cultdao.io and carefully read what they write about themselves. “Break the chains,” “change the world.” Yes, but how exactly? I switch page by page when I suddenly click on the red button in the right corner and hear something familiar.
“We think too much and feel too little
More than machinery, we need humanity.”
An iconic monologue from Charlie Chaplin’s “The Great Dictator.”
I must say, it looks pretty impressive with arts and atmospheric design. I am nearly ready to join the Cult now! But that is why I am a journalist, not a crypto investor 🙂 So, I continue researching.
In FAQ, I finally find my answers in light of which this scheme from the main page is becoming more understandable. Take a look at it, then read the text below and look at it once more.
Cult DAO is a decentralized funding mechanism. The creator focuses on the fact that it is completely decentralized — developers or the government cannot stop it.
To add to that, in Cult DAO, 50 Guardians are top token holders who safeguard proposals for investing. Still, even Guardians have no control over the DAO. They just submit proposals and cannot vote for them.
I already mentioned the token of the system — CULT. For every CULT transaction, users pay 0,4% fees. These fees fill the investment fund (Treasury). When you stake CULT, you get dCULT. It is a proof-of-stake token which gives you the power to vote for the investment proposal. You also get a reward for staking.
Currently, Treasury contains $455,962. Eighty-nine projects have already been funded.
Only decentralized projects can get investments from Cult DAO.
“My wishes are for Cult to not become just a decentralized venture capital protocol. I want CULT to invest in radicals and revolutionaries. CULT is a home for outcasts, for those who feel insane, for those who are and feel different”, writes the creator of Cult DAO, Mr. O’Modulus, in the Cult DAO Manifesto.
Cult DAO was launched in February 2022. After a couple of months, in May 2022, Mr. O’Modulus presented the second concept as a part of the Cult ecosystem — Revolt 2 Earn, and CULT’s sibling — RVLT token. The new concept is also created for investment, but individuals help to build the decentralized world and not projects.
Revolt 2 Earn works at the same 0,4% scheme as Cult DAO.
Discussions about who Mr. O’Modulus is are not so popular as prepositions about Satoshi Nakamoto. Among the candidates, for now, is only one person — the creator of Shiba Inu, Riyoshi.
Some people on Twitter claim that Mr. O has already said it many times in different ways. “You just didn’t listen.” Maybe they have: for example, just recently, on August 14, they posted this tweet where you can see the open tab with Riyoshi’s mail. Mr. O deleted it, of course, but the internet does remember everything.
And, coming back to Satoshi, some people even say that Riyoshi is Satoshi themselves.
The irony is that Riyoshi are anonymous, too. They also deleted all their posts and left the internet in June 2022. Or not 🙂
“The first rule of Cult is to talk about Cult”: that’s what is written in the Cult manifesto and Twitter.
You also can join the Discord community to speak with other interested people or participants. You can find Guardians there, too — in case you want to propose your project for investment. The proposal should include detailed tokenomics, the burn, and the distribution plan. All requirements you can find in the FAQ.
Cult coins are listed on Coinbase and KuCoin. On the official Cult website, there is a recommendation to buy CULT on Uniswap. On Binance, Cult coins are not yet listed.
Important! You can buy CULT and RVLT only for ETH.
The current price of CULT is $0.00001027 (for 28th August 2022). It had a slight rise right after release, but now it is pretty stable. RVLT costs less — $0.0000001224 — and has a similar situation.
So, there is no hype story of huge earnings on Cult DAO yet. But the price of a currency depends on trust and demand, and the Cult coins have their attention.
For example, CULT was the second most visited coin on CoinMarketCap in the last seven days. And RVLT has already caught the interest of the famous cyber group Anonymous.
