Well, we have a variety of news today. While the market froze during crypto winter, some participants are experiencing all the difficulties. Others continue to work as if nothing had happened. And, of course, what a day in the crypto world can be without hacking. About this and other things — more in detail below.

More Ravencoin!

Binance Pool, the cryptocurrency exchange’s mining pool service, has added support for Ravencoin tokens (RVN). They can be mined using GPUs (of which there is now a surplus after the Ethereum blockchain network switched from Proof-of-Work (PoW) to Proof-of-Stake (PoS)).

Japan will have its own cryptocurrency

Japan’s central bank will begin experimenting with a digital yen in early 2023. The tests will be conducted in cooperation with several financial institutions, the names of which were not disclosed. The tests will test how deposits and withdrawals will work, and lack of internet. The final decision on whether to adopt the digital yen will be announced in 2026.

The developers of the decentralized exchange Curve Finance have published the code and whitepaper for the decentralized stablecoin crvUSD. The overcollateralized stablecoin will rely on a Lending-Liquidating AMM (LLAMMA) algorithm. crvUSD will have similar functionality to the MakerDAO stablecoin called DAI. It will be secured with crypto assets.

Hacker stole from a famous crypto capitalist

Cryptocurrency venture capitalist Bo Shen reported that $42 million was missing from his Ethereum wallet. Most of the tokens, about $38 million, are USDC. The rest of the stolen assets are Tether (USDT), Uniswap (UNI), reputations (REP), and liquidity tokens (LQTY). A blockchain security company, Beosin, added that the exploit could have been the result of a compromised private key.
