Dozens of NFTs stolen from top web3 builders in serial attacks

NFT Collector CryptoNovo with an NFT collection worth over $4 million, and CloneX COO Nikhil Gopalani were victims of a recent hack where their crypto wallets were penetrated.

CryptoNovo, the flashy web3 builder kissed goodbye three CryptoPunks, a Bored Ape, a Mutant Ape, three Meebits and two CloneX NFTs.

In just 16 hours, the bad actor, now the new owner of the NFT assets, effortlessly sold all 10 NFTs for a lump sum of 492.66 ETH.

The current price of ETH at the moment is $1,250.00. This means CryptoNovo lost an equivalent of $615,825. 

According to popular on-chain sleuth ZachXBT, the charlatan moved the acquired funds to the crypto exchange ChangeNOW.

The same hacker depleted Nikhil Gopalani’s wallets in a phishing scam. Gopalani lost NFT assets in two of his wallets amounting to more than $140,000.

The NFT collection included 19 CloneX NFTs, 18 RTKFT Space Pods, 17 Loot Pods, 11 CryptoKicks and 19 RTFKT Animus Eggs.

Gopalani revealed that not all the NFTs have been sold.

In a separate incident, CryptoNovo’s Discord account was also attacked by a con artist soliciting funds while promising job opportunities at Novo’s company, Vayner3.
