Casper Labs, a blockchain software and services company, is integrating its new Prove AI product with IBM’s “watsonx.governance” platform. This announcement was made by Casper Labs CEO Mrinal Manohar at the IBM Think conference, where he also introduced GreyscaleAI as the first design partner for Prove AI.

Prove AI aims to enhance security, provide version control, allow multiparty access control, and facilitate advanced auditing capabilities for generative AI training datasets through comprehensive audit logs. Developed on the Casper blockchain, which supports both permissioned and permissionless network operations, Prove AI will be fully integrated into IBM’s service, as explained by Casper Labs to Cointelegraph.

“With increasing regulatory demands for accountability in AI operations, it’s becoming crucial for businesses to mitigate risks associated with AI applications,” said Manohar. Prove AI will enable users to revert to previous versions of data sets to address issues such as hallucinations, biases, and other performance anomalies.

The AI governance solution was co-developed with IBM Consulting, building on a partnership announced in January. It utilizes IBM’s established analytics and policy enforcement capabilities to ensure compliance with regulations such as the European Union’s AI Act passed in March, and other industry-specific standards.

The first design partner for Prove AI, California-based GreyscaleAI, specializes in developing inspection systems for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. These systems use high-resolution X-ray imaging and AI algorithms to detect packaging errors and unwanted materials. GreyscaleAI will be implementing the beta version of Prove AI, with a full-scale launch expected in the third quarter of 2024.

Additionally, at the IBM Think event, it was revealed that the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority is collaborating with IBM to integrate its ALLaM Arabic text generation model into watsonx. IBM also disclosed plans to replace approximately 7,800, or 30%, of its back-end workforce with AI over the next five years.

Casper Labs, which launched its blockchain in 2020 after transitioning from Ethereum, issued its native CSPR token in 2021. The token has seen significant investor interest, peaking at a trading high of $0.056 on January 4. As of May 21, CSPR was trading at $0.030, with a daily trading volume of $10 million and a market capitalization of $355 million.
