There is never a dull moment in Web3 and cryptocurrencies. Especially after Elon Musk finally decided to buy Twitter and Binance is helping him do it. Otherwise, November 2 was the usual day: layoffs, hacks, and new alliances. And this is just the most interesting news. Stay tuned for the main events with us!

Deribit hacked

On November 2, crypto derivatives exchange Deribit reported that its hot wallet had been hacked and $28 million in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC has been stolen. However, customers’ funds are safe, and the losses are covered by the company’s reserves.

Binance x Twitter

Yes, this is another news item about Twitter, which was bought by Elon Musk (it’s not our fault, there’s news about it every day). Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, said his company wants to “support anything related to cryptocurrencies or Web3” related to Twitter, Zhao said at the Web Summit this night. Musk has already said that the platform will accept more cryptocurrency. And CZ is ready to offer Binance Pay for Twitter integration.

Game of Thrones NFTs

Warner Bros. has announced a collaboration with Nifty’s Marketplace to launch an NFT collection based on the recent TV series House of the Dragon.  The collection tokens will be created and released by the digital production company Daz 3D.

Fellowship of the Web3

The Web3 Domain Alliance, a new coalition whose goal is to promote technological advancement and interoperability of Web3 domain registries and to improve the Web3 user experience, was launched today. The Alliance will seek to prevent malicious phishing attacks, the actions of bad actors posing as Web3 “top-level domains” (W3TLDs), cybersquatting, and Web3 domain collisions.

This includes such well-known projects and platforms as Unstoppable Domains (.crypto, .nft, .x, .wallet, .bitcoin, .dao, .888, .zil and .blockchain), Bonfida (. sol), Tezos Domains (. tez), Polkadot Name System (.dot), Hedera (.hbar), Syscoin (.sys) and klaytn.domains (.klay), which work together to secure Web3 domain names. This cross-chain coalition includes Polygon, Ethereum, Solana, Tezos, Polkadot, Hedera and Klayton blockchain-based naming systems.

More unemployed in the crypto world

Within a day, three major cryptocurrency companies announced upcoming layoffs: Galaxy Digital cuts staff by 20%, BitMEX — by 30%, and DCG — by 10%
